The faculty of education at Albaha university has been incorporated to the university since its establishment. It used to be named as teachers’ college of education that were directly administered by the Ministry of Education since 1409. According to the decree number 3514/ MB dated on 3/5/1427 and the agreement of Saudi government number 10/5/1429 in 29/4/1429 the faculty of teachers’ Education directly become administered By Albaha University and named the faculty of education.

The role of Academic affairs at the faculty of education is to follow up the learning process and the progression of learning in all departments according to the set rules and regulations. This is through the supervision of the implementations of learning programs and the development of plans as well as the selection of the best cadres in higher education learning.

 

The second goal of the academic affairs is the continuous development of learning environment and strength the performance of the departments that under its administration. This is to create the learning environment that encourage the excellence and creativity to achieve the message and the vision of the faculty. It is also coordinate all activities that designed for students with the deanship of students’ affairs. It is also prepare reports and statistics that in relation to the students’ learning levels and follow up the graduate students by adhering to the standards of quality and accreditation especially the third criterion that stress the standards of teaching and learning.

Tasks

 

  • Supervision of the rules and regulations that associated with the implementations of studies and examinations of the university.

  • The supervision of the departments under its administration.

  • Supervising the preparation of schedules for students in different departments and coordinating with other faculties through cooperation with the deanship of admission of registration as well the schedules committee. 

  • Supervision of distribution and allocation of students at different departments.

  • Supervising the final exams through specifying committees from different departments in cooperation with the deanship of admission of registration.

  • Following up on the implementation of admission and transfer rules.

  • Supervision of the permeant committees.  

  • Chairing the administered committees and reporting to the concerned authorities.

  • Supervising the equivalence of courses.  

  • Supervision of postponement, apologies, additions, deletions of courses.   

  • Peppering the graduation and deprivation lists. 

  • Guidance and council of students to resolve different academic issues.

  • Periodic reports to the dean of the faculty about the progress of work within the academic affairs.

  • Supervision of the financial and covenant that administered by the academic affairs agency.

Welcome to the Vice Deanship of Development and Quality. Towards Excellence, we are looking forward to developing and supporting all aspects of academic work as well as establishing quality concepts and practices in all academic and administrative units at the College of Education.

Despite the recent establishment of the Deanship of Development and Quality, it has made good steps in that direction based on plans that have drawn and identified with professionalism.

Tasks

 

  • Communicate and coordinate with the Deanship of Academic Development concerning development, quality, and academic accreditation.

  • Supervise the work of academic accreditation at the faculty and provide the necessary support for the scientific departments and various units towards the completion of all requirements.

  • Coordinate between the various departments and units in the faculty to ensure complementarity with regard to quality and academic accreditation.

  • Propose the procedures and instructions relevant to development and quality, and follow-up on their implementation upon being approved.

  • Propose the committees associated with the Vice Deanship and follow up the implementation of their works upon being approved.

  • Supervise the units affiliated with the Vice Deanship.

  • Coordinate with the Administration of development of the faculty skills and the Administrative Development Department at the university concerning the skills development of faculty and administrative staff members at the college. 

  • Discussing the results of implementing quality standards and academic accreditation with the various departments and units in the college to verify the proper implementation of standards.

  • Represent the College in meetings and university committees relevant to academic development and quality.

  • Determine the Vice Deanship needs of human capital, equipment, and materials and follow-up on their provision.

  • Preparing the strategic plan of the college.

  • Preparing the annual report of the college.

  • Performing any other tasks within scope work of Vice Deanship.

Vice Deanship of Higher Studies and Scientific Research encourages the scientific departments at the College to prepare and develop new graduate programs to fulfill the objectives of the entire University and offers academic services and support to the graduate students. It also pays great attention to academic publishing of the staff members research papers through the support given by the University Deanship of Scientific Research. Vice Deanship of Higher Studies and Scientific Research, in close cooperation of all departments, is preparing a set of graduate programs for male and female students, which can satisfy the market and community needs.

  • Operate graduate programs in accordance with regulations of  Ministry of Education

  • Prepare and revise admission requirements.

  • Supervise graduate programs at the College including tests and committees

  • Develop the College’s capabilities in scientific research.

  • Revise strategies of scientific research and their action plans.

  • Revising graduate students admission files and distribute them among the College departments.

  • Collecting departments recommendations about students admission and send them to the University Deanship of Higher Studies.

  • Submitting periodical reports to the Dean of the College about the workflow of units and the challenges they face.

Introduction

 

The Department of Art Education is one of the departments of the College of Education - Al-Baha University. It is the responsible department of preparing a distinctive and innovative teacher, keeping pace with local and global variables. It has the competencies required by international quality systems to enable it to compete in the labor market at the international and local level. Not just that, but that the specialisations taught by the student within the art education’s program allow him to work in multiple fields besides the field of teaching, in addition to the possibility of benefiting from his study of these specialisations to work in his special projects or small projects.

    The department of education and psychology is one of the main pillars of the college of education at Al-Baha University. Where undergraduate students study a range of courses within the framework of general educational preparation. The department seeks to work in complementarity with other academic and support departments to prepare and qualify the personality of the teacher of the future. In addition to be a distinguished graduate , capable of achieving the requirements of the labor market in the light of international quality standards and achieving sustainable development, competitiveness locally,  regionally and internationally from the perspective of the Kingdom's vision 2030.                                                                                           

    The department also provided and supervised several high graduate programs such as (general diploma in education, guidance and counseling diploma, and master of psychological guidance and counseling).                                                                                            

    The department is keen to respond for educational and community institutions requirements through introducing educational, scientific courses and seminars, furthermore educational and psychological counseling services at the hands of a group of professors and specialized staff with professionally and academically expertise.

    The Department of Special Education is one of the leading departments of the Faculty of Education at Al-Baha University. It was founded in 2010 and has three tracks: mental retardation, learning difficulties, and speech and language disorders. It is one of the sections provided for each of the students and studying hours is the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree 132 in special education.

The Department of Special Education provides specialized programs within the tracks (learning difficulties - intellectual disability - speech and language disorders) at the bachelor level, in addition to the postgraduate program at the master level in the field of gifted and talented students, so that graduates of the department can serve the educational process and the development of the educational system Both locally and in the Arab world in the field of care for people with special needs. The Department of Administration and Educational Planning was established at the Faculty of Education in 1430 H. It is specialized in postgraduate studies, Which offers a master's degree in Educational Leadership, The Department develops cooperation with domestic institutions (e.g. ministry of Education) and organize training workshops for leaders.

Objectives

 

The department seeks to contribute to the preparation of educational leaders needed by the educational field, It also continuously seeks to empower its students with advanced leadership skills by transforming theory into application. The department allows students to participate in many internal and external scientific activities and events such as conferences, seminars, and various meetings under the scientific supervision of the faculty members in the department. It also seeks to encourage students to participate in the construction and development of study plans.

Programs

 

The Department contributes to providing appropriate scientific qualification aimed at developing leadership skills among Saudi ambitious young people, on solid scientific grounds. This is done by offering the Master of Educational Leadership programme at Albaha University, which began in the academic year 1431/1432 H. It is a qualitative program focused on preparing and qualifying learners for leadership positions to bring about the required change in educational institutions in order to achieve the development goals of Saudi Arabia.

The Department is keen to activate the academic guidance and scientific supervision for postgraduate students through:

  •  weekly office hours of the academic staff in the department;

  •  direct guidance from the faculty member of students in the lecture halls;

  •  motivate superior students for more excellence and success;

  •  Suggest remedial activities to address the poor achievement of some students;

  •  reviewing the results of the assessment to identify defaulting students (less than 70%);

 and helping students find direct solutions to their academic problems.

Department of Physical Education

Introduction

 

The Department of Physical Education was opened in 1409 AH at the Teachers College at the time of the Ministry of Education. Teachers College to Al-Baha University changed its name to the College of Education in 1427 AH, and then the university administration reopened the department after reviewing the letter of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education No. 55 / a and dated 6/1/1430 AH referred to the decision of the Council of Higher Education No. Issued in the second session Held on 29/4/1429 AH to approve the restructuring of the Teachers College and Girls Colleges affiliated to Al-Baha University.

The Department of Physical Education distinguishes it from other sections, because of the nature of specialization, which is characterized by multiple sources of knowledge and diversity, which is closely linked to many other sciences, such as health and biological sciences on the one hand, and social, educational and psychological sciences on the other.

The Department grants the Bachelor of Physical Education and is in the process of initiating a master's program based on the teaching of 16 faculty members from various scientific schools.

Overview

 

The Master of Educational Leadership program is a real turning point in devoting the concept of educational leadership, where the development of skills, through his various courses. The program deals with the modern view of the concept of educational leadership, how it can be practiced effectively within educational administrations. This is done by offering the Master of Educational Leadership programme at Albaha University, which began in the academic year 1431/1432 H. It is a qualitative program focused on preparing and qualifying learners for leadership positions to bring about the required change in educational institutions in order to achieve the development goals of Saudi Arabia. It targets graduates of university colleges and workers in the fields of education at the level of schools, district and central administration of the Ministry of Education, universities and other institutions concerned. This program consists of four semesters, including a number of methodological courses, and the submission of a thesis which required for  master's degree
