The College of Business Administration (CBA) aims to provide quality education and rigorous scientific research in business in engaging academic environment and collaborative social partnership. CBA is home to more than 2,121 students across five programs that include: Administration, Accounting, Management information systems, Marketing and Law. Our faculty consists of more than 72 members across different academic ranks and disciplines; and 29 scholars pursuing their graduate studies  overseas. CBA entertains a collegial environment that allow our diverse faculty to work collaboratively in designing and promoting our programs and curricular. CBA is also a house of five consultancy offices that provide its services to public and private institutions. To achieve universal recognition, CBA currently entertains academic partnerships with eminent accreditation bodies such as NCAAA and AACSB. We aspire to assume a leading position among other business schools at the local and regional levels.

Dean's Message

 

Since the launch of Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has made significant progress in its economic reform. Hundreds of initiatives and programs were launched to fortify and diversify the economy and turn our key strengths into enabling capabilities to function effectively in the global competitive market. 

In alignment with Vision 2030, College of Business Administration constantly strives to provide our students with knowledge, skills, and contemporary practices of business management. Beyond the core curriculum, students who choose CBA as their academic home will find a broad range of workshops, seminars and activities to hone their skills. The College of business administration provides faculty and students with a positive collegial environment and open communications across departments. While nine office hours a week is required by faculty members, most often they exceed the stated minimum hours and are easily accessible to students. Each student is mentored by an academic mentor who guides him in his academic pursuit.

CBA entertains a diverse body of faculty working collaboratively to increase research impact in a myriad of business domains and participate effectively in community service activities. Moreover, our faculty are engaged in training workshops and seminars pertinent to diverse scholarly activities.

The college of Business and administration aims to adopt academic programs to progress higher education locally, regionally, and internationally. The student academic affairs goal is to give its students the best education experience to qualify graduates and compatible with academic accreditation requirement

Tasks

 

  1. Follow the regulations and rules for the studies and tests on the university level. 
  2. Supervise the units belonging academic affair (Students affairs unit, Exam unit, students activities unit, advising unit). 
  3. Oversee student academic scheduling and organizing with the colleges with the assistants of the deans.
  4. Update academic schedule during the registration period and solve problems associated with scheduling. 
  5. Govern the academic affair committees and report to the 
  6. Supervise the process of equating courses 
  7. Direct students’ degree plans.
  8. Propose acceptation and transfer in the college.
  9. Prove transferring requests within and out of the university

  • Proposing the executive plans of the development of the college and submitting them to the Dean of the College for approval and following up on their implementation.

The college of business has a vital part in society and improving our nation. It contains many major qualifications for the job market. The college continues to improve its programs and its academic plans to stay up to date with the current demand of the job market. Its goal is to rely on the local academic accreditation (NCAAA) and the international accreditation (AACSB).

  1. The women branch affairs over sees all the students’ academic affairs.
  2. We work to activate the process of academic affairs guidance for students.

The activities of the faculty members to guide students, academically, psychologically, socially and scientifically and provide advice to them, and give attention to students who suffer from poor academic achievement and talented others, and raise studies on their cases to the scientific section. Objectives

- Help students achieve academic excellence in accordance with their abilities and tendencies.

- Follow-up students who defaulted to study and help them acquire the necessary skills to increase their achievement.

Accreditation

 

The quality and academic accreditation unit is responsible for spreading quality culture, monitoring performance evaluation, developing and implementing improvement plans in the department, collecting data and information on a continuous basis, and coordinating efforts and results in all quality activities and academic accreditation.

Unit Functions:

- Commitment to the mission and objectives of the college to improve performance.

- Contribute to the survey of the views of graduates and community institutions benefiting from the outputs of the program to achieve the principle of partnership in the development of those outputs in the light of quality standards and academic accreditation.

- Conduct measurement and evaluation processes, and provide a database on quality assurance and accreditation.

- Coordinating with the other scientific departments in the faculty to serve the quality and accreditation processes.

- Participate in the formulation of plans for improvement and training for the processes of evaluation and confirmation

Saudi Arabian economy has been growing at a very fast pace in the last two decades leading  to growth of industrialization, information technology, retailing, services, real estate sectors, etc. This has increased the demand for marketing professionals and of marketing programs. In particular, with the recent socio-economic reforms, and Vision 2030 implementation in Saudi Arabia has resulted in the revival and development of the entertainment, tourism and service industries that need human resources in the field of marketing, which the department through its programs endeavors to provide.

The department is committed to supporting the mission of the Albaha University. It does this through excellence in classroom instruction, by motivating students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies sought by employers, and by creating knowledge that informs and advances the art and science of marketing. Full-time faculty teaches all Marketing classes. Faculties have Ph.D. and Master’s Degrees from some of the most prestigious universities. The faculty brings many years of practical experience into the classroom and maintains close industry ties through their active participation in research. Our Marketing program integrates topics from sales, marketing management, marketing research, logistic and international marketing into a unified course of study.

Academic Consulting

 

Academic consulting & advising is a continuous procedure and process in the Program. Each faculty member has office hours besides his/her lecture hours that are posted on the door of the respective office. Students are notified about the office, means of contact and communication, etc. in the first week of every semester. Students have free access to personally meet and discuss their academic issues, problems in courses, registration problems, etc. Moreover, the faculty members contribute also to student development by providing advises on ethical behavior and mentoring students about their future career.

Academic Accreditation

 

“Accreditation ensures that education provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality.” The purpose of Accreditation is to make sure that the Education being imparted is meeting the standards of quality and are continuously improving. We at Al Baha University in general and department of marketing of College of Business Administration in specific are keen and are in process to get our programmes accredited by the National Accreditation body NCAAA. 

We are also in process of AACSB accreditation.

The accounting department is necessary to fill the gap by educating students in accounting and prepare them for career opportunities that the labor local market needs and offers distinct competency in the field of accounting and auditing to cover the deficit in this specialty.

Academic Consulting

 

The academic Consulting in the department provides the students with academic information, familiarize them with the regulations, and help them solve their problems. All faculty members participate in the academic guidance. All students are divided into groups of 20 students and supervised by a member of the teaching staff. 9 hours per week are allocated for this purpose.

Academic Accreditation

 

The department seeks to contribute in achieving the institutional accreditation of AlBaha University and also aspires to achieve program accreditation at the local and international levels. In light of these aspirations, the Department established the Quality and Accreditation Committee whose role is to:

  • Spread the culture of quality among the faculty members.
  • Fill up all forms of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation, such as Course Specification, Program Description, Self-Study, Course Reports and Program Report.
  • Prepare manuals and performance indicators to work on the evidence-based assessment in accordance with quality standards and requirements of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation.
  • Prepare and distribute all questionnaires to students and collect and analyze statistically the data in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses

The Department was established in 1430 (2009) in order to provide capable graduates that are demanded in the recent international and domestic complexity of business development where IT has developed in order to organize and systemize information for managerial decision making.

Conducting continuously improving quality education in the field of MIS to students in order to supply outstanding graduates through engagement in scholarly scientific research in contemporary MIS issues and providing community services.

Objectives

 

  • Graduating students who will have various skills necessary to work in a vibrant, technologically advanced and international business environment.

  • Developing an ability to integrate management information systems concepts with other business disciplines;

  • Acquiring the ability to do research and analysis through use of traditional and electronic sources.

Academic Consulting

 

In their course of study, students are required to pass all exams.  Any student scoring less than 60% in any course is regarded as fail and students are expected to retake the course in order to pass in the course and to improve their GPA.  Students are assigned to their respective academic advisors so that they would be guided and advised which courses they have to take or retake.

           This program was created to meet the increasing demand for business administration specialization (in both the public and private sectors) following the economic development experienced by the country in general and particularly in Al-baha region at the beginning of the 21st century. It supports the vision 2030 of KSA and satisfies the needs of organizations and the labor market as well as the development requirements in different economic sectors (services, commerce and industry) and multiple specialties, including, but not limited to, human resource management (HRM), operations management, international business, strategic management and supply chain management.

BS in Management Information Systems provided by the Business School Baha University is a four-year full-time program.
