Faculty of Education

The faculty of education at Albaha university has been incorporated to the university since its establishment. It used to be named as teachers’ college of education that were directly administered by the Ministry of Education since 1409. According to the decree number 3514/ MB dated on 3/5/1427 and the agreement of Saudi government number 10/5/1429 in 29/4/1429 the faculty of teachers’ Education directly become administered By Albaha University and named the faculty of education.

Overview

The Department of Special Education at the Faculty of Education at Al-Baha University aspires to achieve excellence at the local and regional level in the field of preparing the specialized cadres academically, educationally and professionally to ensure the development of educational and awareness services provided to individuals with special needs and their families to contribute to achieving comprehensive development and the requirements of the age according to the highest scientific standards.

Objectives

The department seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • Preparing human cadres from undergraduate and postgraduate students to become qualified teachers and special education teachers and prepare successful researchers, leaders and administrators.

  • Contribute to the development of scientific research in the field of special education.

  • Provide advisory and training services to governmental and private institutions and diagnosis and training services for children and their families through specialized centers.

  • Provide awareness programs for the prevention of disability and educate the community members on how to deal with people with special needs.

The department also seeks to achieve the following objectives:

Students describe the curricula and theories of special education, the historical development of its categories, the comprehensive concept of disability and giftedness, their categories, and their lineage in society.

Students explain modern teaching strategies and methods of measurement, diagnosis and evaluation for special education classes.

The students plan, design, implement and implement the individualized educational program, educational program and teaching aids for each category of people with disabilities according to the track they are enrolled in.
