The Department of Special Education is one of the leading departments of the Faculty of Education at Al-Baha University. It was founded in 2010 and has three tracks: mental retardation, learning difficulties, and speech and language disorders. It is one of the sections provided for each of the students and studying hours is the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree 132 in special education.

The Department of Special Education provides specialized programs within the tracks (learning difficulties - intellectual disability - speech and language disorders) at the bachelor level, in addition to the postgraduate program at the master level in the field of gifted and talented students, so that graduates of the department can serve the educational process and the development of the educational system Both locally and in the Arab world in the field of care for people with special needs. The department focuses on providing quality education according to the latest educational theories in this field. The department believes that education is a message aimed at developing the society and its progress in all its categories, To achieve Comprehensive sustainable development that serves the society in all its sectors.

The Academic Advising System seeks to provide advice and guidance to help students to successfully complete the study phase by achieving the following objectives:

• Providing the necessary support for students during their studies to achieve the completion of the study plan and to complete all the requirements within the time available.

• Providing academic and advisory information to students and increasing their awareness of the university mission, objectives and regulations.

• Follow-up students academically and help them to complete their studies efficiently and support the university's efforts in providing a sound learning environment to graduate qualified students to the labor market.

• Helping students to identify scientific disciplines that suit their mental abilities and inclinations

• To guide the stumbling students, guide them, care, and follow them to raise their scientific level and help them overcome their obstacles.

Provide students with suggestions and advice to improve their educational attainment and help them overcome their academic and administrative problems

• Raise awareness on campus of the University's resources and services to improve the level of students.

Provide students with experience and scientific opinion on the organization of their time and good investment to get the best methods of study and good achievement
