As a response to the national development requirements and the integrative role of the higher education in labor market, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Albaha University was established by the royal decree no. 9682/MB dated 05-08-1426H to meet labor market needs in the public and private sectors. The Faculty includes distinguished theoretical scientific departments of Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Foreign Languages and History. The Faculty is committed to its educational, research and community service responsibilities in accordance with the University vision and the Kingdom educational policies.

Department of History

Overview

The Department of History was established in 1426 AH/2006. It is part of the scientific departments of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, one of the faculties of Al-Baha University. The department teaches the Biography of the Prophet and the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mission

Providing interesting materials that help students to look back to the history of the world with emphasis on the history of Arabian Peninsula and the approaching of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). In addition, introducing students to biography of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his teachings, which enable students to take his life as an example and implant in them the love of their nation and leaders.

Objectives

  • provide students with a thorough knowledge of prophet Muhammed (PBUH)'s biography in a way enough to help them get closer to him, cherish him and follow him as an example in all aspects of life.
  • enable students to know the history of KSA including its three phases (the establishment principles, the leaders' efforts to unite KSA and defend it.
  • Implant values and ethics of the Saudi society in students to reinforce the spirit of belonging both the nation and religion.
