The Faculty of Sciences and Arts in Qilwah is the fruit of the efforts of the university administrators, headed by His Excellency the Rector, and I thank him for the trust he has shown on me, asking the Almighty to be worthy of that precious trust, and ask Him to help me to promote and contribute to the faculty's’ developments. And all this will only be achieved with the help of Allah first and then the effort of everyone who belongs to this newly born faculty. The Faculty was established in Qilwah in 1433 AH with five departments: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English Language. This faculty has several units and committees that serve various purposes that help achieve the goals of our faculty. There are two important units: Student Affairs Unit and Academic Guidance Unit, which are intended to help students in the process of registration, guidance and counselling. There is a unit for the members of the teaching staff. A cultural and social committee is also working in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs that conducts general cultural lectures to develop cultural awareness among the students. The committee also coordinates scientific trips that link students with the institutions and companies related to their studies and make them acquainted with the surrounding environment. The Faculty also includes a Sports Committee that trains and prepares students, organizes matches and participates in the university championship in various types sports. Each of all these committee is supervised by pioneer of faculty members who have enough experience. The Faculty is keen to promote quality education for its students through the development of study plans as required by the International Accreditation Authority. I call upon my students to take interest in seeking and collecting knowledge and to make it their way in their lives in order to serve their homeland and religion.
