The College of Medicine at Al-Baha University is one of the colleges of Al-Baha University in the university city of Al-Aqiq province in Al-Baha region. The college was established in 1429 AH corresponding to 2008, and teaching medical students started at the beginning of the academic year 1430/1431 AH. in 1436 AH the female student's section was opened. The leadership of Al-Baha University was keen to establish a medical college with excellence not only locally and regionally but also globally, and from this standpoint, the college worked on the applying a modern system, which has not been applied in many medical colleges in the Kingdom, which is the (Integrated system), where the same subject is studied again at a later stage, which provides a great opportunity to fully absorb the subject. The University Hospital is currently under construction.

About

Due to the importance of clinical training for students of the Faculty of Medicine, the Vice dean for Hospital Affairs has been established and has built a strong relationship with the various health sectors which needed by the training process, whether at the basic or clinical years level, as well as in the development of Internship training regulation and begin their training.

To collaborate with other health sectors in many volunteer activities. The agency is concerned with graduates and is communicating with them to overcome any obstacles they face in the future.

The Vice-Deanship also assigned to support and follow Staff member on Scholarship.

It cooperates with other health sectors in supervising and training postgraduate doctors in different hospitals in the region by coordinating the work of Saudi faculty members in the rare specialties required in the region's hospitals.

The Vice-Deanship has three main units:

  • Training and Internship Unit

  • Alumni Unit

  • Postgraduate Studies Unit 

Tasks

  • Supervising the training of male and female students during their Internship year.

  • Supervising and directing the faculty members at the college to different hospitals.

  • Supervising the committees and support units of the office in both male and female sections

  • Preparing agreements between the college and the various health authorities.

  • Issuing certificates of the internship year and submitting them to the deanship of the college for accreditation.

  • Supervising the faculty's admissions.

  • Making databases for faculty members of the college.
  • Coordination with medical colleges in all matters of training in the internship year.

Units directed by the Vice-Deanship

Training and Internship Unit

  • The unit will be responsible  for making all necessary administrative arrangements for rotation implementation and following up interns
  • Follow-up  of interns in coordination with the concerned training bodies, whether by regular visits, telephonic or written communication to improve and raise the level of training through feedback.
  • Implementing educational programs that enhance medical knowledge of interns, and equip them with the necessary skills for practicing medicine
  • The unit oversees all the problems encountered by interns in their practice
  • gather  evaluation  and logbook . And  send  to  specialized committees to take the appropriate decision.
  • Supervising  interns  from outside the Kingdom after their acceptance.
  • Coordination, follow-up and making official letters for all modules  (the training part) in the region's hospitals.

Alumni Unit

The alumni unit is works on:

  • Creating a graduate database to serve the unit's existing goals.
  • Communicate with Alumni. 
  • Receive alumni suggestions and feedback about college programs and challenges they may face.
  • Invite graduates to participate in and support the college's activities.
  • Organize an annual meeting of Alumni .

Postgraduate Studies Unit

  • Coordinating the collaboration of distinguished faculty members in the required disciplines with other health sectors
  • Participate in supervising the training of postgraduate doctors in other health sectors, 
  • Follow up with college’s male and female teaching assistants on national and international postgraduate scholarship programs in coordination with other departments
