About
The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the most important main departments in the College of Medicine. This department specializes in the field of knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, Pulmonary diseases, Gastrointestinal diseases, Endocrine diseases, Kidney diseases, Rheumatology, Infectious diseases, Blood diseases and oncology, in addition to that it includes a number of subspecialties such as Dermatology &Venereology, Psychiatry and Radiology.
The department is concerned with preparing male and female students in how to deal with patients, taking medical history, methods of clinical, laboratory and imaging examinations, then methods of treatment and prevention, medical advice and psychological and social support for the disease on a professional basis.
The department is also interested in linking its fields of knowledge with other basic sciences knowledges such as human body anatomy, physiology, medical microbiology, pathology and biochemistry.
The Department includes a constellation of distinguished faculty members in all general and subspecialties. The professors of the department also actively participate in the provision of health services and health education, as well as scientific research to study and provide solutions to health problems, which help in the development of educational, research and health services in the region.
