College of Business

The College of Business (CoB) aims to provide quality education and rigorous scientific research in business in engaging academic environment and collaborative social partnership. CoB is home to more than 2,121 students across five programs that include: Administration, Accounting, Management information systems, Marketing and Law. Our faculty consists of more than 72 members across different academic ranks and disciplines; and 29 scholars pursuing their graduate studies overseas. CoB entertains a collegial environment that allow our diverse faculty to work collaboratively in designing and promoting our programs and curricular. CoB is also a house of five consultancy offices that provide its services to public and private institutions. To achieve universal recognition, CoB currently entertains academic partnerships with eminent accreditation bodies such as NCAAA and AACSB. We aspire to assume a leading position among other business schools at the local and regional levels.

About

Along with the side of vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 for this valued country and its wise leadership, which worked very hard to draw up a comprehensive and clear organizational plan to restructure the concept of business and its management based on organizational analysis with extensive studies that parallel the weight and components of this country, which has become one of the countries competing globally in all fields at the level of the two sectors public and private. Since digital transformation is not possible unless there are strong and capable information systems. Information systems have a pivotal role in digital transformation programs and sustainability in building a solid technical infrastructure at all management levels, which helps during the increase of national and international competition between various sectors. Therefore, Information Systems is playing an important role to raise the level of quality and efficiency.

All of this created an urgent need to invest in human resources by building cadres with a vision, a future sense of the 2030 vision’s roadmap and a sense of responsibility to be involved in the assistance for achieving this vision. This target will be achieved by graduated students who are armed with knowledge, skills, and values in the management information systems field including business intelligence applications and systems analysis. Thus, the department is characterized by the presence of competencies at a high level of quality in information systems for both male and female students’ sections. This gave the department the ability to build strong outputs in the specialization with the knowledge, skills, and values that make the graduated students competitors in the labor market, whether in the public or private sectors.

Mission

Conducting continuously improving quality education in the field of MIS to students in order to supply outstanding graduates through engagement in scholarly scientific research in contemporary MIS issues and providing community services.

Objectives

  • Graduating students who will have various skills necessary to work in a vibrant, technologically advanced and international business environment.
  • Developing an ability to integrate management information systems concepts with other business disciplines
  • Acquiring the ability to do research and analysis through use of traditional and electronic sources.
