This research aims to show the view of Islamic jurisprudence on what happens to the contents of a matrimonial home from the beginning of a marriage till it ends (divorce). Although this topic appears to be imperatively relevant to Muslim families-in particular in making provisions for a decent place to live as well as identify and find solutions for its related problems, it is not properly reported by traditional Muslim scholars. Their studies appear to yield different and divergent opinions seemingly making it difficult to bring out a clear and unified view on this matter. This research has put emphasis on the existing conditions regulating the provisions made for the contents of the matrimonial home from the beginning of marriage till it ends. It concludes that such provisions are the sole responsibility of the husband, not the wife or her family. The husband should not coerce the wife into giving up her all or part of what is rightfully hers from the wedding money or gifts, including matrimonial home content intended for her unless she accepted to do so in her own will. Anyone who had intentionally destroyed some or all of the matrimonial home content must provide guaranties on what is not hers or his. Any arising dispute between the couple on this matter should be dealt with according to evidence then to the customary rules or what is traditionally called ‘urf’. What is seen to belong lawfully to either of the husband or the wife could also be taken as a valid evidence to solve the dispute. Keywords: The Governing, Matrimonial, Home, Islamic Jurisprudence.

Every stretch of highway in the world attracts a special kind of consumer but not all roads can attract people of all walks of life and all year around. The Jeddah-Makkah Highway in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia is such a road. Millions of people use this stretch of tarmac, both locally and internationally, with the destination being Makkah; the holiest city in the Islamic world. This highway, which has free standing billboards running along its sides, is used by three types of consumers: Saudi citizens, expatriates, and Muslim pilgrims from around the world, with this latter group making up the biggest consumer percentage out of the three groups. As there is scarce research pertaining to billboard advertising in this country, to this area in specific, and to the Muslim pilgrim consumer in specific, a stylistic analysis of the language of billboard advertising was conducted to map out the terrain for a better understanding of this linguistic make-up of Saudi outdoor advertising. To achieve this end, 60 billboards were analyzed following Crystal and Davy’s (1969) approach as a descriptive framework. The study identifies a number of linguistic characteristics that pertain to Saudi advertising geared towards Muslim pilgrims such as the use of the English and Arabic languages in one ad either via transliterating or translation; use of English as the lingua franca of choice; absence of rhetorical devices; and the use of Modern Standard Arabic in the absence of any dialectal expressions. It also lists a few recommendations copywriters should watch out for such as incorporating an English transliteration/translation within all Arabic ads; compulsory use of Arabic numerals; and the use of big font sized letters and high contrast colors. Keywords: Billboard Bulletin Advertising; Jeddah-Makkah Highway; Linguistics; Linguistic Landscapes; Muslim Pilgrims; Stylistic Analysis.

The aim of this paper is to first compare the student-teacher ratios of primary schools in Saudi Arabia with other countries in the context of second language acquisition (SLA), and secondly, compare the findings with that of other countries where English is the native language, English as a foreign language (EFL), or English as a second language (ESL). A critical review of literature related to student-teacher ratio concerning language acquisition has been done. Generally, a ratio of 15 is indicated as desirable in a number of research works. However, its validity needs to be verified across different learning environments. Upon accepting the desirable ratio of 15, the available UNESCO data on student-teacher ratios of 79 countries was compared with that of Saudi Arabia for the period of 2007-2015. Saudi Arabia’s ratio of 10.97 compared well with the ratio of most of the developed countries. EFL and high-income status of Saudi Arabia with the country's low ratio are highly favourable to achieve high English language competency by the majority of its population. This is vital to reach the country's goals towards its Vision 2030. Some lines of future works, not specifically limited to the case of Saudi Arabia, have been indicated. Likewise, some limitations of this work have been stated. Keywords: Saudi Elementary Education, Primary School, English Language Learning, Class Size, Student-Teacher Ratio.
