Dr. Zuhair Alqarni received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Umm Al Qura University, Makkah, KSA, in 2009 , and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado, CO, USA, in 2017. He recently received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Western Michigan University, MI, USA, in 2021. In 2009, he was an Electrical Engineer at Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Arabia, where he worked on the Overhead power line (132/33kV) from 2009 to 2013. Dr. Alqarni is a member of IEEE.His research interests include power electronics and control engineering including fuzzy logic applications, and microprocessor/microcontroller embedded applications.

This course includes analyzing basic ac and dc circuits containing resistors, inductors, capacitors, and both independent and dependent electrical sources in order to determine currents, voltages, power, and energy. The basic analysis laws are Kirchhoff's current law, Kirchhoff's voltage law, and Ohm's law. Voltage and current divider rule. Sinusoids and phasors phasor relationships.

This course includes: Introduction to digital control systems and digital concept, discrete time systems and the Z-transform, solution of the difference equations, the inverse Z-transform, sampling and reconstruction, open loop discrete time systems, closed loop discrete time systems, system time response and stability, design of digital controllers, case study with MATLAB implementation.
