Establishment of the Deanship The Deanship of Academic Development at Al Baha University was founded in 1431 and approved by the Minister of Higher Education No. A / 7101 dated 8/6/1431 H, based on the decision of the Higher Education Council No. (15/75/1431H) in meeting No. 57 dated 17/1/1431H, as a Supporting Deanship of the Vice Rectorate of Academic Development and Community Service. The Deanship is considered an important pillar in developing university education and enhancing capabilities and skills of university staff to achieve quality practices and excellence in accordance with international best practices.

Tasks

 

- Supervising the work progress of the units of the Deanship of Academic Development.

- Developing implementation plans to raise the level within the units of the Deanship, and supervising the implementation.

- Supporting the efforts of academic accreditation and quality assurance in the various university units and the relevant committees.

- Developing rules of procedure for the work of the vice-Deanship, general description of the duties of its employees, and mechanism of coordination between the units of the Deanship.

- Participating in the preparation and implementation of the development plans of the Deanship.

- Participating in the Quality Assurance Committee to control the quality practices within the faculties, units and centers of the University.

- Monitoring the educational, administrative, financial, and technical aspects in the vice Deanship, in order to control all the processes to achieve quality assurance.

- Defining the training needs of the Deanship's staff, implementing them, and communicating with the entities inside and outside the University regarding quality applications, and training and development programs.

- Recommending whom the vice Deanship needs their services from the faculty members or others, in the development, training and quality according to the University regulations.

- Submitting reports and achievements of the vice Deanship periodically to the Dean for approval.

- Implementing the works assigned by Dean.

- Reviewing the annual evaluation of the staff of the Deanship of Academic Development, commenting and presenting it to the Dean for approval.

    The Academic Accreditation Unit is responsible for preparing and monitoring the implementation of the necessary plans to meet the academic and institutional accreditation standards and requirements at the administrative and academic level and to support, and monitor the tasks related to international and national academic accreditation

Quality and Internal Audit Unit at the Deanship of University Development:

About

 

It is one of the units of the Deanship of Academic Development. This unit works on quality assurance in the performance of each college and department. It also supports the University's deanships and the different units of the University in accordance with the quality systems and plans needed to perform their duties. In addition, this unit works on the development of internal audit mechanisms to ensure the effectiveness and quality of academic and administrative processes at the University, as well as, the preparation of periodic reports to assess the quality, and developing different improvement plans.

Tasks

 

• Setting up an internal quality system in the faculties, supporting deanships, departments and University units.

• Developing plans for quality assurance and monitoring them at the University level.

• Monitoring and evaluating policies and mechanisms that support the achievement of quality standards.

• Forming internal audit committees.

• Preparing the internal auditing forms required to meet eligibility requirements, and institutional and program accreditation criteria.

• Training the University's staff, programs, deanships and departments on how to complete the internal auditing forms.

• Verifying that the different units of the University meet the accreditation requirements and criteria at the institutional and program level.

• Ensuring that evidences are available for institutional and program accreditation standards.

• Training colleges, programs, deanships and departments using “Mock visits” in preparation for external audits.

• Examining quality documents and conducting a group interview with faculty members and other group interviews with students and staff.

• Conducting audits and evaluation of the performance of the faculties, programs and other units, submitting recommendations and proposals for improvement to those bodies, and submitting reports about these to the concerned bodies at the University.

• Reviewing the self-study report and ensuring that it meets the academic accreditation requirements.

• Ensuring that the quality system is activated in the management of the program.

• Ensuring that the necessary equipment for the external audit team is in accordance with the requirements of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment.

• Verifying that the program managers meet the recommendations stated in the report of external auditors from the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment.

     This unit is responsible for complying with the provisions of the institutional accreditation conditions through the establishment of policies to achieve the institutional accreditation of the University, as well as directing and motivating the various University deanships, collages, departments and units to meet those requirements

Tasks

 

• Developing implementation plans for international or national accreditation activities annually in light of the University's strategic plan.

• Monitoring the implementation of institutional accreditation policies and plans within the faculties, programs and committees through the coordination with the Quality and Internal Audit Unit.

• Studying and evaluating the reports of self-study of the progress of institutional accreditation, which were collected in the Academic Accreditation Unit.

• Forming a self-study writing committee through the received reports about the institutional accreditation standards.

      This unit is concerned with the development of plans and policies to monitor the extent to which advanced academic programs meet the program's accreditation for accreditation criteria and requirements

• Studying and evaluating the reports of self-study of the progress of program recognition, which were collected in the Academic Accreditation Unit.

• monitoring the establishment of sub-committees within the faculties to supervise quality practices and report on the extent to which the criteria for program accreditation and readiness are met and fulfilled.

• Monitoring the implementation of program accreditation policies and plans within the faculties, programs and committees through the coordination with the Quality and Internal Audit Unit.

• Monitoring the development and updating of academic plans for the academic programs at the University.

• Monitoring the development and updating of academic programs at the University in accordance with the requirements of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission.

• providing support and advice for forming self-study writing committees in academic programs.
